Stanton – Mill Creek Fire Company was dispatched to a house fire in the 300 block Stanton Road, Stanton on March 14, 2015 at 7:30 AM. Initial report indicated two subjects were trapped in the house. As fire fighters arrived heavy smoke was pouring from the structure. The two occupants of the home made it out prior to the arrival of firefighters. The structure was heavily damaged by fire and smoke and is unlivable. One of the residents was treated at the scene and taken to the Christiana Hospital. The fire was placed under control within an hour. The American Red Cross is assisting the residents. The Delaware State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire. Mill Creek Fire Company was assisted by Belvedere, Minquas, Cranston Heights and Elsmere Fire Companies. Approximately 35 firefighters fought the blaze. All units cleared the scene around 9:30 AM.
