November 7, 2024 – Mill Creek Fire Company was dispatched to a vehicle fire in the 4500 block of Kirkwood Highway (Rt 2) at 4:40 PM.    Firefighters arriving on the scene found the vehicle fully engulfed in fire.    Traffic along Kirkwood Highway was detoured as firefighters worked to extinguish the fire and keep everyone safe.

The scene was placed under control by Deputy Chief Joe Stewart at 5:00 PM and units cleared the scene at 5:24 PM.   The Delaware State Police and DELDOT assisted with traffic.
