May 7, 2018 - Mill Creek Fire Company was dispatched to a commercial vehicle fire on Limestone Road northbound just before Milltown Road.   Arrival units found the trailer portion with heavy fire showing.   The trailer was carrying salad to a fast food restaurant in Pennsylvania.   Fortunately, the trailer was only partially filled with cargo and the fire was quickly extinguished.   The driver was not hurt and had removed his tractor from the trailer prior to the arrival of fire apparatus.

Rush hour traffic heading northbound on LImestone Road was diverted around the fire scene which caused major backups on Milltown Road and LImestone Roads.  Fire crews remained on the scene for about an hour.  Cranston Heights Fire Company assisted on the call.
