Pike Creek Valley – On Friday evening just before 7:00 PM Mill Creek Fire Company was dispatched to a motor vehicle crash with a vehicle down an embankment in the 200 block of Upper Pike Creek Road. Additional reports indicted the vehicle was overturned and power lines down. As firefighters from Mill Creek Fire Company arrived on the scene the driver was still trapped in the vehicle. The driver was the only occupant of the vehicle and was quickly rescued and transported to the Christiana Hospital. Due to the nature of the crash and with the vehicle approximately 30’ down and embankment special teams were notified from Delaware City and Brandywine Hundred Fire Companies. Upper Pike Creek Road was closed for an extended period of time as Delmarva Power crews repaired the sheared off utility pole. The New Castle County Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
